As I embark upon my role as Superintendent of the Everett Public Schools, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the trust you have placed in our schools. I am honored and humbled at the opportunity to serve you, the students, and the entire city of Everett.
Since starting last week, I have immersed myself in the district by visiting several schools, meeting with school and central office staff, and establishing relationships with external partners. I have essentially become a student of Everett, and there is much more to learn and much work to be done.
As a parent myself, I understand that the strength of any school community is dependent upon a meaningful partnership between the schools, our educators and our families all working together to ensure that our students are achieving academic excellence. Without you, we cannot be successful in that endeavor.
Since you are a critical partner in ensuring the success of your children, it is important for your voice to be heard as we shape our path forward as a district. As part of my entry plan, I will be providing office hours at various times and locations throughout the city to better accommodate the schedules of our families. In the meantime, please remember that there is an opportunity to provide feedback to the district on funding priorities under the Student Opportunity Act by filling out this survey on the Everett Public Schools website.
I would be remiss if I failed to underscore the passion and dedication exhibited by those who I have already met. Everyone continues to demonstrate that Everett Public Schools is, in the truest sense of the word, a community. I am exceptionally proud to now count myself a member, and I look forward to working with all of you as we enhance the exemplary work that is currently afforded in the district.
Sincerely, Priya Tahiliani Superintendent of Schools
